Alumilite is a brand featuring lightweight aluminum, thermal hair brushes. I developed the look of the brand and all marketing materials.
The logo includes the logo for the parent brand, Centrix, as well as the name, Alumilite, below. The black and white version of the logo is strong and bold representing the strength and authority behind the brand. I created an alternate version of the logo using an image of brushed aluminum in the word, Alumilite, to tie it in with the aluminum quality of the actual brushes.
I wanted the packaging to feel high-end and not distract from the eye-catching look of the brushes. To achieve this I used a clean and simple black design with white text matching the ceramic barrels of the brushes. The logo is set at an angle and reversed out of black to bring interest to the packaging. The display follows the look of the packaging.
In contrast to the clean and simple look of the packaging, I wanted to do something with the advertising to really draw people’s attention. One of the main selling features of the brushes is how lightweight they are, being made of aluminum. I emphasized the lightweight aspect by finding stock imagery of wings and attaching them to the brush in Photoshop. I used one of my photos of clouds for the background and added some lighting effects to increase the drama. I also thought of the headline, “LET YOUR STYLE TAKE FLIGHT,” to go along with the image of the flying brush.
The brush with wings image was carried through to various web graphics, sales sheets and trade show signage.
